Mousetraps as newspaper holders, washbasins as night tables and Astra boxes as ottomans: the Superbude is no ordinary hotel. Spanning six floor with rooms with up to 6 beds, Superbude is a motley mix where everything but squares go. Breakfast is spread out on Astra boxes and eaten under the gaze of stuffed hunting trophies and later the Breakfast Club becomes the Cake Club. Following the motto, “help yourself” guests come and go taking what they’d like from the chock full cabinets and simply leave a name to pay. Near the Berlin Gate, Superbude’s neighborhood is wanting, but just minutes from the train station, this is about as urban as it gets. Just around the corner is an afghani neighborhood, and St. Georg with its theaters, Bars, Restaurants, and access to Alster Lake. Suit and tie types will be overdressed here, but for everyone else, the Superbude is the most humorous, extraordinary hotel address in the Hanseatic City.
